Sujit Mallik: THE HOLE (listening station)
Berghotel Alpenblick Tenna – GPS: 46.746883, 9.339274
As an artist and farmer, Sujit digs through time and the stories of soils (and the earth). As part of the ILEA residency, he dug a hole to be able to listen into the soil in a very analog way. Visitors were invited to listen into the Alpine soil of Tenna via a tube. After the meditative experience, they could share their thoughts in a notebook (“hole journal”). The project aims to sharpen the senses and to experience the soil as a central force in our lives. It is an invitation to a dialog between (wo)man and planet, between the human and the more-than-human. (JH)
