Ingeborg Lüscher: LICHTKREIS IM SAFIENTAL
Püscha, Tenna – GPS: 46.749554, 9.338051
For over 30 years, the artist has been working with sulphur, an element from the interior of the earth. She uses it as material for her paintings, sculptures and outdoor installations. For Art Safiental she has created a closed circle of light yellow sulphur in a meadow above Tenna. The sulphur does not glow on its own, but ref lects the sunlight. The verticality of the mountains and the rays of sunlight, as well as the horizontality of the scattered circle of light and the diagonal of the sloping area of the hilly landscape in which the circle is installed, provide thematic context. For Lüscher the circle is not just a self-contained, perfect geometric form, it also symbolises the cycle of nature, as well as the delimitation of the cosmos.
