Ueli Alder: CAMERA OBSCURA / STANZA OBSCURA

The Swiss photographer Ueli Alder transforms a traditional Safiental stable (Stanza) into a place for contemplation of the landscape. To achieve this he has converted a barn into a walk-in camera obscura (pinhole camera). The darkened room is illuminated only through a small opening and by means of a lens, the environment is projected upside down onto a white screen. As soon as the eyes of the visitors have become accustomed to the darkness, the picture becomes visible. Up to 10 people are allowed inside the room at the same time. Please observe the instructions posted at the entrance.
